[at a night market] Ben: Wow! Look at all this food. Alice: It's amazing, isn't it? There's so much choice. Ben: What should we try first? Alice: Our tour guide told me about Taiwanese sausage wrapped in sticky rice. I'd like to try one of those. Ben: OK. I'd like to try an oyster omelet. Alice: Oh, yes. That's a famous one. Ben: There's a stall over here that sells them. Let's go get one. Alice: OK. But then we have to try to find a sausage wrapped in sticky rice. Ben: Deal. Alice: Oh, my goodness. What's that smell? Ben: I think that's the infamous stinky tofu. Shall we try some? Alice: No way. Not for me. But you go ahead. Ben: You can have it lots of different ways: barbecued, deep-fried, boiled . . . which one should I try? Alice: It's up to you. I'm getting out of here. It smells awful! Ben: I'll try the deep fried one, I think. [Ben orders and takes a bite.] Alice: How does it taste? Ben: Not bad at all. It's much better than I expected. |
